The Mid-Atlantic Ocean Data Portal’s Marine Life Library was recently updated with new maps depicting the distribution and biomass of individual fish species in both the spring and fall seasons using methods developed by NOAA’s Northeast Fisheries Science Center. In addition, the Portal’s existing marine mammal species maps have been updated using the latest modeling methods. The maps were created by the Northeast Data Portal and Marine-life Data and Analysis Team (MDAT) in coordination with the NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC), OceanAdapt, and Mid-Atlantic Ocean Data Portal, and cover the Northeast U.S. Shelf ecosystem from Maine to Cape Hatteras.

Together, these entities will host a public webinar on Wednesday, July 31, from 12-1:30 p.m. to introduce the new data, demonstrate Portal features, and answer questions.
