Marine Life Library (Species Specific)

The Marine Life Library is home to thousands of maps showing populations and abundance for individual species of fish, birds and mammals along the East Coast. The data were aggregated over the course of two years by a Marine Life and Data Analysis Team (MDAT) in collaboration with the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regional Planning Bodies. NOTE: Because the Marine Life Library data is input from an external source, all of its maps are "session-based" (deactivated once a user leaves or refreshes the page) and cannot be linked to via the headings below, bookmarks or the Portal's URL generator. Users should instead visit http://seamap.env.duke.edu/models/mdat/ for a report with a full explanation of this data. The site also includes downloadable map data products, metadata and other information related to the MDAT project.
