Watch: November 2025 'How Tuesday' Fishing Data Webinar

The Portal’s collection of over 1,000 maps showing commercial fishing activities and management areas was recently reorganized with guidance and input from members of the region’s fishing industry. The goal of the reorganization was to make finding the maps you’re looking for much easier, taking advantage of recent technical upgrades that enable nested map menus. Among the most prominent changes, the Portal’s maps are now organized by fishery rather than data type.

In this session, Monmouth University Urban Coast Institute Fisheries and Ocean Conservation Fellow Jay Odell and Communications Director Karl Vilacoba, both of the MARCO Portal technical team, summarized the changes and provided an overview of the various types of fishing map products on the Portal.
